Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
- In a larger bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until fully mixed.
- Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- Allow the cookie bars to cool completely in the pan.
Frosting and Serving
- For the frosting, beat together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a bowl until smooth.
- Once cooled, spread the frosting over the cookie bars evenly.
- Cut into squares and enjoy! Optional: Add colorful sprinkles on top.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-5 days. They can be refrigerated but separate layers with parchment paper to prevent sticking. For a thicker frosting, add more powdered sugar.
