Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter If using salted butter, reduce the salt in the recipe.
  • 1 cup Sugar Brown sugar can be substituted for a deeper flavor.
  • 2 large Eggs Can be replaced with flax eggs for a vegan option.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Use pure vanilla for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour For a gluten-free option, use almond flour or a gluten-free blend.
  • 1/2 cup Cocoa Powder Use good quality cocoa powder for best results.
  • 1 cup Fresh Strawberries Ensure they’re ripe for the sweetest taste; other berries can be used.
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips Optional; use semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips for extra chocolatey goodness.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat, then remove from heat.
  3. Stir the sugar into the melted butter until well combined.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt. Gently fold until just combined; don't overmix.
  6. Carefully fold in the chopped fresh strawberries and optional chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the brownie batter into your prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  2. Let the brownies cool in the pan before slicing them into squares.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. Can also freeze baked brownies for up to three months. Optional toppings like sea salt or icing sugar can enhance the flavors.
