Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients, and mix well. Stir in the boiling water until everything is combined.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.
Baking
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before moving them to wire racks to cool completely.
Frosting
- In another bowl, beat together peanut butter and softened butter until creamy.
- Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla, mixing until smooth. Add milk as needed to achieve the desired frosting consistency.
Assembly
- Once the cake layers are totally cool, spread peanut butter frosting between the layers and on top of the cake.

Notes
