Method
Prepare the Au Jus
- In a small saucepan, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp onion powder, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, and a pinch of black pepper. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce heat to low and keep warm while you prepare the sliders.
Assemble the Sliders
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Using a serrated knife, carefully slice the entire block of Hawaiian rolls horizontally through the middle, keeping them connected. Place the bottom half of the rolls into the prepared baking dish.
- Layer the roast beef evenly over the bottom rolls. If the slices are large, fold or tear them to fit. Arrange the halved provolone cheese slices over the roast beef.
- Carefully place the top half of the Hawaiian rolls back on top of the cheese and roast beef layers.
Prepare and Apply Butter Topping
- In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp onion powder, dried parsley flakes, pinch of salt, and pinch of black pepper until well combined.
- Generously brush the butter mixture over the tops of the slider buns, ensuring an even coating. Some butter may drip down the sides, which is fine.
Bake and Serve
- Cover the baking dish loosely with aluminum foil.
- Bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the tops of the rolls are golden brown and slightly crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing into individual sliders.
- Serve immediately with the warm au jus on the side for dipping.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can briefly warm the roast beef in the au jus before layering it onto the rolls, just make sure to drain any excess liquid before assembling. If you prefer a milder cheese, Swiss cheese is also a fantastic option for French Dip sliders.
