Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 bunch fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Method

Cooking
  1. Cook the orzo pasta according to package directions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the garlic and asparagus, and sauté for about 3-4 minutes or until the asparagus is tender.
  3. Stir in the cooked orzo pasta and mix well.
  4. Add the parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper; stir until the cheese is melted and everything is combined.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Make sure to cook the asparagus until just tender for the best texture. For extra flavor, you can add lemon juice or zest when mixing in the cheese. Adjust the amount of garlic based on your taste preference. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a microwave or on the stove, adding a bit of water or broth to prevent drying out.
