Oreo Dirt Cake

Ingredients
  

Crust
  • 1 package Oreo cookies Reserve some for topping
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Filling
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened Make sure it's soft for easy mixing
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 package (12 oz) whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 package (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs. Reserve some for topping.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with melted butter until well mixed. Press this mixture into the bottom of a 9×13 inch dish.
  3. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in the whipped topping.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and chocolate pudding mix until thick.
Assembly
  1. Layer half of the cream cheese mixture over the crust, then add half of the pudding mixture. Repeat layers.
  2. Top with reserved Oreo crumbs.
Chilling
  1. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the layers to set.

Notes

Serve chilled and cut into squares for easy serving. Add extra Oreo crumbs, whipped cream, or chocolate shavings for presentation. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
