Ingredients
  

For the Garlic Butter
  • 1 stick Butter Softened, can substitute with olive oil for a lighter version.
  • 4 cloves Garlic Fresh minced garlic gives the best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup Fresh parsley Chopped, dried parsley can be used in a pinch.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Enhances all flavors. Use garlic salt for an extra kick.
For the Bread
  • 1 loaf French baguette or Italian ciabatta Choose a good quality loaf for the best texture.
  • 1/2 cup Cheese (optional) Parmigiano-Reggiano or mozzarella can be added for extra cheesiness.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and salt. Mix until well blended.
  3. Cut your loaf in half lengthwise. For individual pieces, slice into smaller halves or quarters.
Baking
  1. Generously slather the garlic butter mixture over the cut sides of the bread.
  2. If adding cheese, sprinkle it over the buttered bread.
  3. Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes.
  4. Remove from the oven, let it cool for a minute, then cut into pieces and serve warm.

Notes

For an extra crispy finish, broil the garlic bread for an additional 1-2 minutes but watch carefully to prevent burning. Leftover garlic bread can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
