  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 cup marinara sauce Homemade or store-bought can be used.

  • 4 slices garlic bread Use fresh garlic bread for best results.
  • to taste shredded mozzarella cheese Feel free to experiment with different cheeses.
  • fresh parsley for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add minced garlic and diced onion; sauté until the onion is translucent.
Cooking
  1. Pour in marinara sauce; season with salt and pepper.
  2. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, toast the garlic bread slices in the oven until crispy.
Assembly
  1. Spoon the beef mixture onto the garlic bread slices.
  2. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and place back in the oven until cheese is melted.
  3. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

These sloppy joes are messy, so make sure to have napkins handy! For extra flavor, try adding Italian seasoning or crushed red pepper. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
