Ingredients

For the Super-Fast Dough
  • 1.5 cups All-purpose flour plus more for dusting
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1/2 cup Warm water
For the Pizza Toppings (Suggestions)
  • 1/2 cup Pizza sauce or your favorite
  • 1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese low-moisture, part-skim
  • 1/4 cup Pepperoni slices optional
  • 1/4 cup Sliced mushrooms optional
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano or fresh basil for garnish
  • 1 pinch Red pepper flakes optional, for heat

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Rolling Pin
  • Baking Sheet or Pizza Stone
  • Parchment paper
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • Spatula or Ladle
  • Oven

Method

Prepare the Dough
  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper if not using a stone.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the olive oil and warm water to the dry ingredients. Stir with a spoon or your hands until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead for 1-2 minutes until it comes together into a relatively smooth ball. Do not overknead.
  5. Divide the dough into two equal portions for two individual pizzas.
Assemble the Pizza
  1. Lightly flour your work surface and a rolling pin. Take one portion of dough and roll it out into a thin circle, about 8-10 inches in diameter. The thinner you roll it, the crispier your crust will be.
  2. Carefully transfer the rolled-out dough onto the preheated pizza stone or the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Spread half of the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust. Sprinkle with half of the shredded mozzarella cheese, then add your desired toppings (like pepperoni, mushrooms) and a pinch of dried oregano or red pepper flakes.
Bake and Serve
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-14 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted and bubbly with slightly browned spots.
  2. Carefully remove the pizza from the oven. Let it cool for 2-3 minutes before slicing and serving. Repeat with the second dough portion and remaining toppings.

Notes

For an extra crispy bottom, lightly brush the bottom of the rolled-out dough with a little olive oil before adding toppings. This dough can also be used for flatbreads. Get creative with your toppings – anything from fresh vegetables to cooked meats works well! This recipe makes two individual pizzas, perfect for customizing each half.
