Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, and oil until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
- Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
Baking
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan.
- Add spoonfuls of chocolate batter on top, then swirl to create a marbled effect.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before frosting with whipped chocolate frosting.
Notes
Make sure your butter is softened to room temperature for better mixing. Use a knife to swirl the chocolate batter thoroughly for a more defined marble effect.
