- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion and garlic; cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in cooked rice, tomato sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Stuff each bell pepper with the beef mixture and place in the baking dish.
- Top each pepper with a spoonful of tomato sauce and cover with foil.
- Bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil, sprinkle cheese on top, and bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
You can substitute ground beef with turkey, chicken, or a plant-based alternative. For extra flavor, add a pinch of Italian seasoning or red pepper flakes.
