Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup frozen orange juice concentrate undiluted
  • 1 cup milk dairy or non-dairy, cold
  • 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt plain or Greek, cold
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1-2 tbsp sweetener honey, maple syrup, or agave, optional, to taste
  • 1/2 tsp orange zest for garnish, optional

Equipment

  • Blender

Method

  1. Combine the frozen orange juice concentrate, milk, vanilla yogurt, vanilla extract, and ice cubes in a high-speed blender.
  2. If desired, add 1-2 tablespoons of your preferred sweetener (honey, maple syrup, or agave) to taste. Start with less and add more if you prefer a sweeter smoothie.
  3. Blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy, with no ice chunks remaining. Scrape down the sides of the blender with a spatula if needed.
  4. Pour the Orange Creamsicle Smoothie into two serving glasses.
  5. Garnish with a sprinkle of fresh orange zest, if using, and serve immediately for the best taste and texture.

Notes

For an even thicker, more ice-creamy consistency, you can add 1/2 cup of frozen orange segments (peeled) instead of some of the ice. If the smoothie is too thick, add an extra splash of milk until you reach your desired consistency. For a bolder orange flavor, you can increase the orange juice concentrate slightly.
