Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the dish.
- In a bowl, mix together the heavy cream, garlic, salt, and pepper. Pour half of this mixture over the potatoes.
- Sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese and half of the Parmesan cheese over the cream.
- Repeat the layering with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheeses.
Baking
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
- Let it cool slightly, garnish with parsley if desired, and serve warm.
