Ingredients
  

Tart Ingredients
  • 1 sheet Puff pastry Thawed if frozen
  • 8 oz Fresh mozzarella cheese Sliced
  • 2 medium Tomatoes Sliced
  • 1 cup Fresh basil leaves Whole leaves
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil For drizzling
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry and place it in a tart pan.
  3. Slice the mozzarella and tomatoes, and layer them in the tart, alternating between mozzarella and tomato.
  4. Scatter fresh basil leaves over the top.
  5. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
Baking
  1. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.
  2. Serve warm.

Notes

Caprese Tart can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature. It pairs well with a simple green salad or can be served alongside grilled meats. For extra flavor, serve with balsamic reduction or grated Parmesan cheese.
