Ingredients

For the Marinade
  • 1/2 cup Balsamic vinegar Rich in flavor; can substitute with red wine vinegar.
  • 1/4 cup Honey Balances the acidity; can use maple syrup for a vegan option.
  • 1/4 cup Olive oil Adds richness; avocado oil can be used as an alternative.
  • 3 cloves Fresh minced garlic For flavor; garlic powder can be used in a hurry.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Essential for enhancing flavors; use kosher salt for subtlety.
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper Add according to taste preference, preferably freshly cracked.
  • 2 teaspoons Fresh herbs (like thyme or rosemary) Brightens the marinade; dried herbs are fine as well.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, honey, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and herbs until well combined.
Marination
  1. Place chicken in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it, ensuring it's well-coated.
  2. Seal the bag or cover the dish and let it marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for deeper flavor (do not exceed 24 hours).
Cooking
  1. Remove the chicken from the marinade and grill, bake, or pan-sear until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  2. Optional: Reserve the marinade to brush on while cooking (boil it first if using for basting).
Serving
  1. Rest the chicken for a few minutes, then slice and serve.

Notes

For best results, use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking. Experiment with spices or different proteins to suit your taste.
